The Merchant Services Data and Analytics team is driving the build out of Merchant Services next generation data platform which will power industry leading client reporting, direct data consumption by our clients and analytics.

The Data Solutions Product Owner works collaboratively across Merchant Services product, analytics and technology teams to shape the strategic roadmap for Merchants Services next generation data platform and lead the delivery in an agile methodology. The position is ideal for an individual that can combine product management and end to end ownership experience, a deep understanding of next generation data and analytics environments and superior problem structuring skills. The position reports into the Chief Data Officer for Merchant Services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Define data road map to power reporting and analytics uses cases

Drive and own end to end progress - based on clear understanding of the Data requirements.

Develop strategy for utilization of data from multiple data sources to improve insights and analytical conclusions

Collaborate across many cross-functional groups (e.g., analytics, technology, data, risk, compliance, legal) to define business need and influence stake holders in making correct decision

Manage technology team within an agile delivery framework

Manage backlog

PI planning

Participate in PBR to define the needs and set goals

EPICS, Stories, requirements, FIs for initiatives

Production dashboard

Demos

Make decisions and review output that lead to overall positive outcome

Improve the data quality of current reporting to support the delivery of insights across all analytics platforms

Work with data engineering in defining data definitions and classifications

Develop ways in which we can use our data assets for clients to improve client experience

Definition and execution of new business models / services based on data

Experience Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in the fields of engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics

Product management experience in an analytics/information technology setting

7+ years of working in large and medium project teams, as a contributing member in self-directed roles.

Expertise in data mining (esp. SQL on Hadoop) - candidate needs to have the ability to analyze data

Expertise in data and analytics platforms, data base administration and data warehouse design and associated technologies (e.g., APIs)

Understanding of application development process; prior programming experience preferred

Experience in the payments industry and/or technology-enabled industries

Experience in agile methodologies
