Software Engineering (Full Stack) - Vice President at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Mumbai, India)

Be a lead contributor for designing and implementing our core search platform, and modernizing the search experience by utilizing a cognitive based approach to deliver an intuitive and personalized user experience. Engage and collaborate with Data scientists and Sr. engineers, where you will be providing integrated solutions involving index/query pipelines, information retrieval, relevancy signals, autocomplete, synonyms, fuzzy search, incorporating at the enterprise scale and across complex datasets.

Position Summary:

The best-in-class technologist will be tasked with developing and leading the development of high fidelity and quality applications and sophisticated client interactions solutions for our corporate and investment banking clients.

Expert knowledge and experience working with large-scale Search technologies, such as Solr and ElasticSearch
Strong experience with search solutions involving signal capture/processing, relevance tuning, boosting, and search engine optimization techniques
Experience working with NLP and ML models
Microservices architecture incorporating Search controller, signal processing, NLP models, NER mapping, and stage-based pipeline processing
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for design and implementation of software system enhancements
Serverside developer to build and deliver solutions to external/internal users supporting business capabilities around Search. Will be engaged with various stakeholders ( across business, UX, product, tech, etc)
Significant programming experience in a structured software development environment
Ability to quickly and accurately estimate cost and effort needed to deliver a feature
Build strategic generic tech solutions that can be reused and leveraged across business areas
Possess framework mindset, in terms of building components/libraries that can be easily ported/integrated/upgraded with minimal effort by various applications
Work effectively within collaborative team to identify and resolve issues
Must have experience with Java/J2EE with a deep understanding of the language and core API's, web services, multi-threaded/concurrent programming, JSON, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture
Must be able to demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or had experience of several major technology implementation projects
Translate functional and technical requirements into detail design

Additional responsibilities:

Designing software and producing scalable and resilient technical designs
Digesting and understanding Business Requirements and designing new modules/functionality to meet those needs
Creating Automated Unit Tests using Flexible/Open Source Frameworks using a Test Driven Development approach
Partner with supporting tech leads to develop realistic and achievable project estimates
Analysis and build within Control, Stability, Resiliency, Capacity & Performance areas
Testing: Unit, SIT & UAT planning and management
Robust delivery of code into the production environment
Take part in decisions affecting long range organizational goals & strategic planning
Proactively look to develop, implement and further development best practices across the group
Strong written and verbal communication as well as strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to absorb problems & present creative solutions within required timeframes
Be self-driven, ability to work independently or with multiple teams
Application performance tuning and troubleshooting
Participate in analysis of data stores and help with data analytics
Ensure solutions developed adhere to security and data entitlements
Propose best practices/standards

Essential skills

Hands on experience with Search engine implementations (Apache SOLR, lucene, Elasticsearch, etc)
Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
Hands on experience in Java8 and Spring Boot
Experience with Spring Framework 5 (Boot, Rest, Data), Spark, Python
Strong grasp of microservices fundamentals and design patterns
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Innovative and can-do attitude
Strong attention to detail
Exposure/competence with Agile Development approach
Relevant university degree, specialized training or equivalent work experience

Beneficial skills
Experience with Cloud Foundry, Hystrix, Eureka, Zuul
Containerization/cloud: Docker, kubernettes, aws
Experience in Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, HDFS, S3
Experience with Maven, Unix shell scripting
Knowledge of Test Driven and/or Behavioral Driven Development (JUnit, JBehave, Cucumber)
