Vice President, Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Jersey City, NJ)


Duties: Help create the best-in-class data science models for various business use cases using NLP, NLTK, Spacy, Word2Vec, and other Statistical & Optimization techniques. Research and explore new techniques to solve business problems related to text, language, word vectorization, word embeddings, string matching, and context from the text. Build a data classification engine which can understand the semantic meaning of structured and unstructured data across 50K relational databases, Cloud/AWS, Hadoop instances, and billions unstructured files. Develop and design the required techniques to understand the context from the huge input datasets for expanding the word into a readable English corpus. Design and code highly scalable, machine learning applications processing large volumes of heterogeneous data. Develop techniques to infer/interpret and explain the machine learning algorithms output. Develop customized code in order to extend the capability of data discovery engine and integrate the platform into other firm wide systems. Perform testing, validation and monitoring the data science models and reporting/publishing the performance of the models at frequent regular intervals. Explain complex concepts to senior funders and stakeholders. Design ways to visual display complex relationships between data.


Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field. Employer will accept 2 years of experience in application development involving data science, machine learning, statistical modelling and natural language processing to meet the degree requirement.

Minimum experience required: 5 years of experience in large-scale enterprise application development, or related experience.

Skills required: Experience creating end to end predictive models in an enterprise environment. Experience leading the design and construction of a production pipeline. Experience in Big Data Engineering using Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka and HBase. Experience in cloud technologies including AWS, EMR, and SageMaker. Experience with SciKit Learn including XgBoost, Regression, Hypothesis Testing (Chi-Square), One/Two tailed tests, and Anova. Experience in machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow. Experience with core Natural language processing TF-IDF vectorization, NER, Contextual vectorization, and Spacy. Experience in machine learning engineering using Python, Airflow, BigData, and Cloud/AWS/SageMaker. Experience with statistical modeling and mathematical data modeling. Experience with product development. Experience with applied mathematics and statistics.
