Software Engineering - KDB Developer - Mumbai at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Mumbai, India)

Role Description:

The SPG KDB Engineer will be expected to design, develop, test and manage deployment of application. They will be part of the Global Securitized Products Group (SPG) technology team building analytical solutions for our clients. They will work closely with many technology teams, in particular with peer Analytics teams, Trading, Research, Market Risk and Pricing teams. This is a fast-paced environment with focus on quick delivery of technology solutions to the clients.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable communicating with both business and technologists of varying seniority. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is a prerequisite for this position.

The candidate must be able to work independently, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate is a motivated and "eager to learn" technologist, who will not only deliver on the tasks, but will also strive to understand the overall agenda of delivery to make the right decisions.

The role offers the opportunity to learn about MBS, CMBS, Agency and SPG products, to participate in projects covering analytics, visualization and cloud based application.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths, skills and capabilities, including:

Required

Strong academic record with Bachelors degree, or equivalent, in technical discipline such as Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, etc.

7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience

5+ years of q/KDB experience, in particular ticker plants, gateways, HDB/RDB

Experience with development, deployment and support of large-scale, mission-critical KDB production environments

Good knowledge of Python, Linux, version control (preferably Git), JIRA, Confluence

Experience with Test Driven Design or Unit/Regression Testing

Focused on usability, scalability, maintainability and quality

Excellent verbal and written skills are critical as this job requires communicating technical information to broad audiences and delivering clear, concise technical design documentation and code

Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in teams and manage relationships across global teams to achieve common goals

Strong record of driving results

Desired

Experience with Java or C++

Experience with one or more financial products (ie. Structured Products, Equities, Rates or FX)

Experience on Big Data platform (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus

Experience on any cloud platform is a plus
