Data Scientist Lead at JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Glasgow, UK)

We're looking for a lead data scientist to join our Glasgow team which specializes in Natural Language Processing and tasks involving unstructured and semi-structured data.Corporate Technology Machine Learning is an applied research team that uses AI and Machine Learning to deliver innovative solutions across a diverse range of corporate functions: risk, compliance, finance, human resources and legal.

Together we'll work with business and technology partners across the globe, to build imaginative, cutting-edge and well-engineered solutions that will transform business processes and enable new ways of working at one of the world's largest financial institutions.

The role:
* Work with internal clients to understand business challenges/opportunities and shape solutions
* Analyze data, train models and prototype systems to prove out those ideas
* Communicate findings and disseminate research both internally and externally
* Mentor and guide junior research scientists on the team
* Work with engineering teams to deploy production solutions

Required skills and experience:
* Good understanding of algorithms and data structures
* Good understanding of mathematics and statistics
* Familiarity with the Python and the associated data science ecosystem
* Expertise in Natural Language Processing (traditional and ML-based)
* Track record of taking machine learning projects into production

Desirable:
* MSc or PhD degree in AI/ML
* Prior experience of financial sector, and an awareness of risk and regulatory concerns
* Familiarity with system architecture and engineering e.g. UNIX, Kubernetes, Kafka
* Familiarity with application architecture and engineering e.g. web services, HTML/CSS/Javascript, UI/UX
